The 14th Annual Great Glass Pumpkin Patch is pleased to feature the following artists. Together they have created thousands of pumpkins in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Attendees will discover a field of pumpkins that will surely surprise and delight them. Please note that the images below were provided by the artist. The artists are listed in alphabetical order.
A Small Production - Rich Small
"Rich likes to create objects that have stories to tell. Objects that draw you into them, begging questions, yielding few answers. His glass objects have unexpected textures, both tactile and visual. Often the objects incorporate metal in unexpected ways; a metal leaf seeming to blow through a snowstorm in the stem of a mushroom, a beaten metal bowl making up the base of a vessel, what appears to be copper cladding on an ancient urn. All of these objects have stories to tell. You just have to ask." Rich
Aleksandra Barilko

"2009 is the year of glass firsts for Aleks. She has gone from taking her first glassblowing class to making her first pumpkins in less then 4 months! Aleks will have several of her multi-colored pumpkins and cane pumpkins available for purchase at the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch 2009." Aleks
Kathleen Campana

"Captured by the shimmer of glass early on, Kathleen knew she would embrace this material. In 1972, she started flameworking with borosilicate tubes and rods, with fourth generation master glassblower, Gerhard Rossbach of
Germany
. Her fascination grew as she learned more about glass; her favorite application being offhand (pipe) glassblowing. As Kathleen puts it, “each time I pick up a blow pipe or stare into the furnace, my passion ignites and I continue to be mesmerized by this material.” Kathleen

Commonwealth

of
Glass
. In 2004 Keith moved to

Glassasoares - David & Faye Soares, Robert Zatavasky
Girl Glass - Shannon Morgan
"For the past 11 years, with the wake of every morning,
I am inspired to pick-up a glassblowing pipe and create art. Rather then having a “set plan” my
art is often inspired by someone I know, experiences I've had and/or a places I've been. Time falls away like no other place in my daily world… glass speaks to me in a language not shared by others… the process is for me… the outcome… for you."
Shannon
Glass Divas - Janett Peace & Deva Priya

Hanson and Kastles - Ingrid & Ken Hanson

"Ken and Ingrid Hanson are a husband and wife glass blowing team who have been working collaboratively for over ten years. Together they create hand blown art glass that is both unique and contemporary. Ken and Ingrid have worked together since their early college years. Although traditional Italian and Swedish glass-blowing techniques inspire them, they employ a bold and innovative color palette to create their unique and contemporary art glass." Ken & Ingrid
JCM Studios - Jon Scally, Chris Moore & Mark Murai

"Jon Scally, Chris Moore and Mark Murai (dba JCM) began blowing glass together in 2003. JCM Glass Studios was formed shortly thereafter. They have 15 years worth of art glass experience combined. While pumpkins are always a patron favorite, JCM also crafts delicate Venetian vases, crisp Swedish Modern vessels and colorful contemporary glass art as well. Thank you for joining JCM in supporting BAGI, PAAC & PAACF in their efforts to keep glass art accessible to the greater Bay Area." Jon, Chris & Mark
Jon Love Art Glass - Jon Love
Leonoff Glass - Nick Leonoff

"Nick Leonoff is an emerging artist based out of
Monterey
,
California
. Nick began working with glass in 1998 as an apprentice for stained glass artist Alan Masaoka. In 2003 after graduating from
Pepperdine
University
with a business degree, Nick found his passion for hot glass. Since the first gather glass I took from the furnace I have been intrigued with the process of glass blowing, and the intensity of working with a molten medium that can quickly take form to a solid state. There is an urgency to create in that moment of time that requires both patience and spontaneity as the glass is heated, blown and sculpted into its final form. The luminescent qualities of glass appeal to me as it responds to light. I am drawn to the potential of a material that can vary from a translucent to an opaque medium in a brilliant range of colors and gradations." Nick
Palo Alto High School - David Camner & PALY Glass Program Students

"Paly Glass Pumpkins are produced by the Paly Glass Team, a group of Artists, Alumni, and Students who volunteer their time and energy to help raise funds for Paly Glass, a unique program, under the direction of artist/educator David Camner, at Palo Alto High School, servicing 130 sculpture students. Thanks to funds raised last year we now offer Flame-working. PALY also has a visiting Artist Program. We are one of few such programs for high school students in the country. Thank You BAGI, PAAC and PAACF for your support." David
San Jose State University - Cassandra Straubing & SJSU Glass Artist Guild

"San Jose
State
University
(SJSU) glass program teaches students how to use glass as a medium to convey their artistic concepts. Students combine their creative energies with the technical skills they learn while in the glass program. Areas of glass work covered include glassblowing, slumping & fusing, sand & mold casting, and cold working… just to name a few. Equally important to the hands-on experience is the sense of community that the students create. They often work collaboratively to make expressive, unique glass art. Proceeds earned from SJSU pumpkins sold at the patch help the SJSU Glass Artist Guild bring in guest artists, invest in new tools and supplies.Thank you to BAGI, PAAC and PAACF for including SJSU in their efforts to bring glass art to the community." Cassandra
Silica Valley Glass - Kevin Chong
www.silicavalley.com

"Glassblowing has said to be like a dance. Sometimes though it feels like the glass is doing ballet and I'm in a mosh pit, but I don't want to be anything less than a master craftsman. The work I do comes from my dreams, through my heart and out of my hands. I feel fortunate that I can work every day with such a wonderful material" Kevin
Silkwood Glass - Treg Silkwood & Candace Martin

Greg Small
Studio Zayante - Chris Johnson

"It's all about color! I use multiple layering of bold color to explore depth and interaction in the glass and to create unusual texture. My goal is to create glass art that, everytime you look, is newly compelling - from a distance, close-up and in detail." Chris
Monique Tse

Truck Dog Glass - Dean Bensen & Demi Theofanous

"Truck Dog Glass was born out of the collaborative force between partners
Dean Bensen
and Demi Theofanous. While Dean and Demi are both glass artists in their own right, and have had a personal relationship for years, it is only recently that they have found the time to come together in this joint venture - a venture driven by creativity, enthusiasm, love, and the artistic process. Dean has been working in glass for over 10 years and is the backbone to this team's technical success, while Demi offers the artistic vision in developing their color palette and designs. In working together, they merge their strengths, to make an exciting team in today's art glass scene. They avidly support the glass arts through volunteer work and contributions to fundraising events." Dean & Demi
Fratelli Zuccone - Peter Vizzusi

Wunderboy Glass Mechanica - Louis Basel, Esteban Salazar, Stephanie Chang, Krystin Tanaka

"Louis fell in love with glass as a freshman at MIT in his home state of
Massachusetts
. He learned, worked in and then taught glassblowing there until graduating in 2006. Upon finishing school Louis moved to the Bay Area where he has been in over his head, working in glass, designing and building an electric car and moonlighting as an product engineer for a San Jose Solar start-up called Nanosolar."
